The Southsiders

Southsiders 2.jpg

A stalwart fixture of the Austin Blues scene for some time, The Southsiders features singer Marcus 'T' Tharpe, from Memphis, TN. Marcus "T"'s dynamically powerful, yet soulfully sublime vocal delivery draws inspiration from the likes of  Bobby 'Blue' Bland, Junior Wells, Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, among others. The vocals are perfectly complimented by the guitar phrasing of Austin's own, Jeff Conti and his languid string-stretches and tasteful-trills, brings to mind the four Kings: Albert, B.B., Earl and Freddy. And, its all backed-up to the bone by the deft, deep-driving bottom tones of Indiana native and touring veteran, Eric Matthew Przygocki, who is equally adept at stand-up and electric bass.

The band offers a songbook of original tunes, plus select material from artists like Otis Rush, Johnny 'Guitar' Watson, Sam Meyers, Paul Butterfield, Larry Williams, and Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown, to name a few.

So, whether you wish to sit back and enjoy a forgotten R&B Ballad from the Crescent City or you want get up on your feet and dance the night away to a genuine Beale Streeters' toe-tapper, The Southsiders featuring Marcus Tharpe are guaranteed to be a crowd pleasing powerhouse of Roots & Urban Blues, Classic Soul and Good ol' Rock & Roll, for all ages and occasions!

Rollfast Ramblers

Rollfast Ramblers.jpg

Rollfast Ramblers dial it back to a time when people came out to dance to music. Describing their music as Western Swing isn’t descriptive enough for the Ramblers. They get back to the roots of Western Swing, pre-1940’s.

The whole idea is to take the same approach those as those country folks in the early 20th century trying to play Jazz, Blues, Conjunto, Swing mixed with Appalachian Folk and Pioneer Fiddle Tunes.

But, Rollfast Ramblers is not music that you have to study to enjoy. Let’s all hum a tune, clap, tap our feet and most of all let’s all dance

David Touchton

David Touchton 3.jpg

"The music performed by David Touchton is described as original, heartbroken, honky-tonkin', and old-school country blues."

David Touchton is an Austin,TX based musician with honky-tonk and blues in his blood. With influences ranging from Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard to Ray Wylie Hubbard and Son House, David is pushing the envelope of what defines country blues in Texas.

David  grew up with honky-tonk in his blood, as his grandfather, Peck Touchton was a player in the Houston honky-tonk scene in the 1950's, rubbing shoulders with such icons as George Jones and Faron Young. Much of what Peck did rubbed off on David at an early age and as soon as he could, David found himself picking up a guitar and learning to moan the blues just as his heroes such as Hank Williams and George Jones did.

David moved to Austin, believing it to be the mecca of music in Texas, and after years of playing and honing his craft he has begun to make a name for himself in the Austin music scene, playing nearly 200 shows a year in venues such as The Broken Spoke Dancehall, Giddy Ups, Hill's Cafe, Poodie's Roadhouse, Riley's Tavern, The White Horse, and many other venues in and around town.

Along with his Nowhere Band, David is constantly striving to leave his mark on what the music he loves.
